Body & tasks
Tasks
A focus list: one task at a time, most important first.
- You → Tasks → + at the top. Write it (up to 300 characters), set a priority and tap Save task.
- Tasks shows one task at a time from your bucket. Done finishes it; Later sends it to the back. Edit on the card changes it. Focus mode is at the top, beside +; under the card are All tasks, Plans and the Bin.
- Focus mode shows the task full screen, with nothing else around it. Swipe the task right for Done or left for Later; a short swipe puts it back.
Done tasks and the bin
- A task you finish goes to the Bin (You → Tasks → Bin) for a day. Tap Restore and it's your current task again.
- After a day it's gone for good. A task in a plan stays in its plan, shown as done.
Repeating tasks
- Under Dates and order → Repeats, pick Day, Week, Month or Year, and how many (every 2 weeks, every 3 months…).
- When you tap Done it isn't gone: it leaves your bucket and comes back on its next date. A monthly task on the 31st comes back on the last day of shorter months.
- Its deadline moves with it. With only a deadline, it comes back its lead time before the next one. Finished late? The dates you missed are skipped.
- A repeating task can't wait for others, and others can't wait for it.
Start date
- Under Dates and order, give a task a start date. It stays out of your bucket until that day, then joins it.
- All tasks lists it under Starts later with its day. The start date can't be after the deadline.
Deadlines
- Under Dates and order, give a task a deadline. It shows how many days are left (or how many it's overdue).
- The lead time is how many days before the deadline it turns urgent. Urgent tasks are marked in red and stay urgent until done.
- Each time you finish a task or put one off with Later, every urgent task gets a 50% chance to jump the one ahead of it, again and again, so it reaches the front quickly.
Tasks that wait for others
- Under Dates and order → Blocked by, tap Choose tasks and tick the tasks that must be done first (search to find one quickly). It stays out of your bucket until they're all done, then joins it.
- Under Blocks, tick the tasks that must wait for this one. It works both ways: if A is blocked by B, B's page shows it blocks A.
- Any task can be linked to any other. When you link a task after a task in a plan, it joins that plan, with every task after it.
- All tasks lists your bucket in order, with each task's priority on the right, then the tasks waiting and the ones starting later; tap one to change it. To delete it, ⋯ → Delete task at the top. Task plans →
- Higher-priority tasks move forward faster as you work through the list. The top one is also on Today.
